So much fun! My experience was amazing. The ticket booth staff were so nice and helpful. They had a photo op area with someone who took the photos for us. The haunted house itself was amazing. I literally felt like I was in an old farmhouse. The actors kept the scare level high. I jumped so many times. Definitely recommend for anyone to attend, you will have a blast!

We attended opening weekend for Desolate Acres's second year. They have definitely stepped up their game! Ticket booth and que line staff were so nice! They added a photo op in the barn this year while waiting and since it was opening weekend we had great spacing between groups! Actors were spot on in their rooms and made us jump and scream quite a few times! We had a blast and are looking forward to next year!!! 🎃

This haunted house was so much fun and scary! The characters were awesome and completely interactive. Our group loved everything about it from beginning (such nice ticket people) to all of the scary aspects in the house. It was so detailed too. What an awesome addition to our October weekends!

I attended this golf cart ride in October of 2024. This ride, I would say, is NOT for children or adults who do not enjoy jump scares. While I would say that I looked forward to the event, what I did not expect was the complete degradation and disrespect from some of their workers. A scared person, who clearly didn't want to be there but didn't seem to have much of a choice, sat in the cart next to me and decided to power through with their eyes closed. This went on fine while the rest of us enjoyed the ride. Until one scary clown worker completely stopped our cart and forced her to look at him. He said, "I am not letting you leave until you look at me." And when she refused again, he told her that she should be embarrassed, considering how many younger people go through this ride just fine. I found this to be insanely disrespectful to treat anyone that way simply because they paid for a ticket, and they should be able to go through the ride without shame. Maybe they thought they were going to like it more and realized too late; maybe they were part of a group that pressured them to attend. Either way, the way that the worker handled the situation 3/4 through the ride ruined the rest of the event. We all sat in silence, including the driver, for the remainder of the ride. Safe to say I will not be supporting this event any longer.

I’m speaking up again. And this time, I’m asking you to share.
Halloween season is here again, which means Warriors Haunted Asylum in Dotyville, WI is once again welcoming people through its doors — including families and young people.
And because of that, I feel like I need to say something I never thought I’d have to say again.
Earlier this year, during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, I shared my story publicly for the first time. I shared that when I was a child, beginning in kindergarten, I was sexually abused by my then-stepfather, Dan Cartwright, who is now the owner of Warriors Haunted Asylum. This went on for 6 years.
I didn’t share that story for attention. I didn’t share it because I wanted to hurt anyone’s business. I shared it because I spent years being silent, and I finally decided that protecting the feelings or reputation of adults was no longer more important than telling the truth about what happened to me.
Since making that post, I have been called a liar and told that there is “no proof.”
So let me be very clear:
I am the person who lived through this.
I know what happened to me.
There was no magical paper trail that appeared when I was a child. There was no courtroom where I got to tell my story and watch someone be held accountable. As I explained in the original post, I eventually reported what happened as a teenager and was told that nothing could be done because of the statute of limitations.
Does the absence of a criminal conviction erase what happened to a child?
No.
Does someone having no criminal record automatically mean that every allegation made against them is false?
No.
And does someone else’s decision to believe the accused change what I experienced?
Absolutely not.
My mother has also spoken publicly about what happened when I was a child, including that I and my siblings were removed from his presence and brought to therapy. She has firsthand knowledge of what our family went through at the time.
I am not asking strangers on the internet to investigate my childhood or to harass anyone.
I am asking people to listen.
I am asking parents to make informed decisions about who they allow around their children.
And I am asking you to share this post, because I would rather have someone see my story and make their own informed decision than never know it existed.
I also noticed that the public reviews that were previously available for Warriors Haunted Asylum are no longer available. Regardless of why that happened, I don’t want my original post to simply disappear from people’s view while the haunted house continues operating.
I am not going away.
I am not going to be bullied into silence because my experience is inconvenient for someone else’s business or reputation.
I cannot tell you what happened to anyone else.
I can only tell you what happened to me.
And if my story makes even one parent stop and think twice about who they trust around their children, then speaking up was worth it.
Children deserve to be protected. Survivors deserve to be heard. And silence should never be mistaken for proof that something didn’t happen!
If you believe parents deserve the opportunity to hear this before deciding whether to take their children to Warriors Haunted Asylum, please share this post.
Thank you all for your continued support while I try to be a voice for all those that are too afraid to say anything!
Not child friendly.

Sheboygan Haunted Asylum get's better every year! They really stepped up their game. For opening day, they had a drive for the local Humane Society and you got a free T-shirt if you made a donation for the animals.
Show up, Get scared!
